A Bit of Britain in Santa Monica
Ye Olde King's Head began in 1974 with a simple goal: bring the warmth of a proper British pub to the West Coast. What started small has grown over five decades into a Santa Monica landmark, known for great food, drinks, and even better conversation.
Just steps from the beach and the 3rd Street Promenade, our Pub, dining room, outdoor patio, and Gift Shoppe offer a true taste of Britain. For locals, it is a familiar place to unwind. For visitors, it is a must stop for a pint, a meal, or afternoon tea, all served with that classic pub welcome.
Over the years, we have hosted countless memories. Weddings and wakes. Soccer matches and darts nights. Tourists and regulars from all over the world. We are proud to be an Ambassador for all things British, and honored to be part of so many stories. One newspaper summed it up best by calling Ye Olde King's Head "like the Statue of Liberty on the West Coast."
